Another Round Another Rally, Teremana Small-Batch Tequila, and Art Beyond the Glass are teaming up to give six hardworking bartenders from across the country the experience of a lifetime: a three-day, hands-on immersive journey into the culinary and cultural heart of Mexico. Dubbed Casa Jacaranda: Culinary & Cultural Education, the program will give six selected bartenders the opportunity to do more than just sip and sample authentic Mexican food and drink, it will also enable them to explore the traditions, markets, kitchens, and cultural foundations that define Mexico City and influence Mexican spirits and cuisine.
Learning Through Immersion
This year’s Casa Jacaranda experience will build on the immersive programming that made last year’s inaugural cohort so impactful, offering participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Mexico’s culinary traditions, culture, and hospitality through hands-on experiences and meaningful connections. Surrounded by local vendors, fragrant spices, and the hustle and bustle of daily life, participants will get an authentic taste of the city’s culture and cuisine while learning traditional cooking techniques firsthand and sipping on Teremana tequila cocktails along the way.

“There are two things that I must say blew my mind and made me experience a holy sensation,” said Edna Lopez, one of last year’s participating bartenders. “The tamales filled with corn and salsa macha. Being able to make these two things from scratch and trying them for the first time properly made it just a surreal experience.”
Exploring Ancestral Techniques & Trade Secrets
Last year’s six bartenders representing a variety of backgrounds spent the days taking their newfound skills several steps further, mastering about 30 authentic Mexican recipes made in the traditional “Abuela,” or “grandma,” style. From traditional street food and tacos to hearty breakfasts and flavorful moles, each participant learned to cook with intent, celebrating the stories and origins of each ingredient and dish while strengthening their connections to the people and places behind them.

Pairing With Purpose
Teremana Small-Batch Tequila will maintain a steady presence throughout the three-day experience, giving bartenders the opportunity to enjoy the tequila crafted in the Jalisco Highlands using brick oven-roasted agave while deepening their understanding of the spirit and its origins.
“The experience provided by Terema and Another Round Another Rally was nothing short of life-changing,” said Aaron Morris, one of the six lucky bartenders selected for last year’s opportunity. “It really made me step out of my comfort zone and embrace my love for gastronomic science while bridging the gap between the worlds of food and beverage.”

Providing Cultural Context
Casa Jacaranda gives bartenders more than just a chance to sip and snack their way through Mexico City – it also gives them the skills, background and context they need to serve up Mexican spirits, dishes and stories with a stronger sense of authenticity and respect. Going well beyond a culinary crash course, Casa Jacaranda paved the way for participants to learn from the pros, explore new culinary and cultural settings, and, ultimately, develop a stronger sense of appreciation and intention for their work behind the bar.
